My wife and I went to the Walker yesterday to see the Keith Haring exhibit before it closes this weekend. It had been awhile since I visited a museum, but it sure felt right. I really love the way art can (and should) make you think and feel about the world. I am also really hanging on Haring's belief that creating as much art as he could was incredibly important/impactful. There was no need for perfection or classic mastery of one approach to art -- what a freeing way to create.
So, no post today to get you to buy anything. Just go see some art. But if someone wants to write me a big fat check to go back to school to study art history or studio art, I will certainly take it and put it to good use.
Best,
Ty
